New Kid's Hairstyles

Kids Hairstyles
Before the age of 12, when a child is still a child, they don’t have as much
creative expression over their hairstyle as do their parents, which is why in
their teenage years the majority of teens explore to the hilt with their own
personal style. But just like young adults, hairstyles have come a long way
for children and parents are beginning to break away from the traditional
side head ponytails and colorful hairclips.

For a kid’s hairstyle, keeping things simple is the best way to go. Minimal
fuss is paramount for both the child and the parent. At this age, a younger
child is fully dependent on the parent to maintain their hair, get it cut, and
style it nicely before school or a party. Low maintenance locks on a child
will save you much time. Because boys and girls are generally active,
hairstyles that are easy to manage and won’t tangle easily are ideal.
Children are more concerned at this stage about playing than socially
fitting in with the crowd and are not as concerned with their hairstyles as
are their parents. Because of this, they needn’t have the hottest,
sweetest ‘in’ thing or even have their hairstyle resemble a certain celebrity.
Looking cute is one thing but a child needs to feel comfortable with their
hairstyle and something that requires too much effort to maintain will
only be a downfall in the end.
A child’s healthy hair at this stage is enviable as there often isn’t any damage
done this early on. They haven’t baked it in the sun, chemically or heat treated
it straight or curly, or overused products. For the most part, shampoo and
conditioner coupled with a leave in treatment depending on the quality of the
hair is all a child’s hair needs to keep it in a healthy state.
Girls Hairstyles

Little girls always had the benefit of sporting hair accessories. If their hair was
too long or out of control, put it up in a ponytail, a bandeau, a scarf, and
anything else to cuten it up. Activity and getting dirty isn’t just limited to little boys
Little girls are equally as playful and while their hairstyle should be cute, it
should also be simple. Short hair just past the ears or shoulder length
tresses are becoming more popular. It’s easy to manage for the child and
easy to wash and style for mom. These two lengths, even though not very long

still allow some great possibilities for adorablelooks. This length is also
perfect for the athletic child as hair doesn’t get tangled up. Longer hairstyles

Boys Hairstyles

What matters to a little boy about hair is simply that he doesn’t look like a little
girl. Even then, long hair on a boy is only an issue because it hangs in his
face. Because boys tend to be very active by nature, boys hairstyles have to

compliment their lifestyle. A parent might be hesitant to cut their sons locks
because at this age, their hair is near perfect. From the age of about 11 and
older, little boys begin to develop ‘a say’ on their hair, until that point, most
chosen boys hair styles are that of their parents. Some very popular boys
hairstyles are the crew cut and spikes. They bring us back to earlier days when
a boys hair was cut much shorter to his head. These two hairstyles are perfect
for the active boy as they’re short and stay in place. When thinking of a little
boys hairstyle, consider that up to a certain age, parents have to fix their Childs
hair for them. Crew cuts and spikes will save time from brushing and styling,
as both haircuts are short, neat and only require a snippet of gel and water.
